Motovun, Istria
Motovun is a medieval town in central Istria. It is situated on a hill 270 m high. All three parts of the town are connected by a system of internal and external fortifications with towers and city gates.
Motovun Forest is protected and rich in truffles, black- and white truffles grown there. Main seasons: from September to December
On the slopes of the hill, grapes for famous Istrian wines are grown: the Teran and the Malvazija wine are produced.
Events: Motovun has hosted the International Motovun Film Festival at the end of July and ballooning events (its favorable microclimate enable flying in balloons all year around).
